The Friends of the St-Vincent Concerts
The goal of the friends of the St-Vincent Concerts is to organize and deliver cultural programs in the exceptional setting of St-Vincent.
Blessed in its location, architecture and history, St-Vincent permits the association to attract and host artists with equally exceptional mastery of their instruments and to enrich the region’s musical and artistic culture.
Each year the association holds two distinct festivals, each featuring a series of concerts connected by a common thread:
-
Florilege Vocal (loosely translated as the “vocal bouquet”), from February to March, dedicated to the art of the voice
-
L'été, c'est l'orgue (Summer, it’s the organ), from late July to late August, dedicated to keyboard instruments—organ, harpsichord and others—alone or with other instruments
To secure the services of talented professional musicians with the modest budget permitted by a small group of dedicated friends is not a simple matter. The association does not attempt to compete with larger festivals, but rather focuses on specialized, high quality performances.
The St-Vincent Concerts allow the personal discovery of musical arrangements, instruments and talent that fall into one of the following categories:
Ancient music, including traditional as well as modern arrangements
Contemporary music, including personal compositions or interpretations of modern works
Unusual music, presenting innovative individuals and groups
Artistic explorers welcome!
